The Banshee

Mother,
I met a woman
down on the river -
she was so white and
young and fair

Red her hair and green the eyes,
so green ...
Green? yelled mother
Green! and broke down
crying

She was so beautiful,
I am getting very wretched
if I am thinking on her pulchritude

Father bared the door
Listen, son!
Her eyes - have they really
been green?

So white was her skin
(never saw I something else so pure)
and I in the dirt of me,
I have to sit ... lay ...

Son!
Father, help!

And mother was still crying and father -
silent and did not know anything to say ...

This day I am a very while away
Did not found she - the young, beauty

Red her hair and green the eyes

Let me sleep I am so tired
